I was totally busted... gluing where I shouldn't have been by the hubs. lol.

We have very low windows, and our taller dogs can put their feet on the window sills from the back yard. Needless to say, they have put their little puppy feet through the screen one too many times when they hear either of us moving about in the bedroom. The screen wasnt torn, just pushed in... and after yesterday's post about the INVASION of ninja jumping spiders outside my house, I was NOT going to let the hubs open the window at night with the screen popped off... and being as how he's not the quickest at fixing things around the house with trips to the field almost every week now, I figured I'd use a teensy, tiny bit of hot glue (aka 3-4 sticks. ha!) to seal it off from further spidey invasion.

I waited until he was outside... but somehow he snuck in behind me, and I was caught red handed. lol

I am a firm believer that ANYTHING can be fixed with a glue gun. Loads of people say that about super glue, but I'm an impatient girl, and hot glue dries way faster. he he.

This is why I'm not allowed to fix anything around the house.
Because I just glue it back together.
Like the time I tried to close the vent in the bathroom.
But I'm short.
So I climbed on the toilet seat.
I slipped.
Off came the toilet seat.
Tried to glue it back together.
Glued hand to toilet seat.
Got laughed at by hubs.
Hubs replaced my glue monstrosity.

I want to VOMIT... Read at your own risk

These little f*ckers have taken over the outside of my house. Ewwwwww

(google images)
Isn't he UGLY?! Meet the jumping spider. BARF! Thankfully they're not harmful, and don't bite unless provoked.

And these guys are NINJA's! They come down on their little spidey-strings and try and attack your face.

Normally I just screech like a baby until the hubs kills it for me. HOWEVER, one of these Houdini's made it into the house last night and I found him on my ceiling this morning... The hubs is in the field... That left me to kill it myself :(

Did I mention I have vaulted ceilings in my living room? Well, I do, and the little brat was about 15 feet above my head. I stared at him a good half an hour until he started moving and I had to act fast before he crawled off and hid somewhere... I taped my broom to my swiffer and smashed his little guts out. Too bad his little guts were stuck on my ceiling WAY out of my reach... They have since fallen down and been flushed to Spidey-Heaven, thankfully.

Now that my skin is crawling, and I'm sure yours is well, anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of these icky little arachnids?

Because this "little" guy on my storm door HAS GOT TO GO!

Sorry it's out of focus and sideways... I just wanted y'all to see how big and furry these guys are. This one is about half the size of the one I killed on my ceiling this morning. Maybe he's the baby trying to avenge his fathers death by swiffer!

{one} have you ever been stuck in an elevator?
I would probably crap my pants. Seriously. I'm only claustrophobic in elevators. When we went on a cruise I pretty much refused to take the elevator, electing to walk up 7 flights of stairs multiple times a day, because I was so scared of the ship sinking with me in the elevator. lol

{two} have you ever ridden on an elephant?
Yep. Quite a few times when I was younger. They always had elephants and camels to ride at the fairs back home.

{three} have you ever met a well known celebrity?
I've met Good Charlotte

{four} do you have any food allergies?
Nope. Although sometimes I wish I was allergic to pasta. I like to blame being Italian, but really I'm just a fatty who loves pasta... and whose rear-end does not. he he

{five} do you know how to sew?

{six} did you get an allowance when you were young?
Sometimes... but I was really bad at doing chores. Guess some things dont change. ;)

{seven} how often do you fill up your gas tank?
Every three weeks or so... I get about 35 mpg in my Corolla going to and from school.

{eight} have you ever been stung by a jelly fish?
Eeeek! Nope! I've never actually seen one in the wild either... we used to go to a beach in NH that had sand sharks a lot though!

{nine} have you ever been robbed?
Not that I know of. lol

{ten} what is the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
I pretty much hate most of my hair cuts. My hair is very fine, and it takes like 45 seconds to cut... so when I say just trim it, hairdressers usually translate it into cut off 6 inches just to take more time. lol

I'm on vaaaacation :)

I've been on pins & needles waiting for Spring Break to finally get here. It's been a long 4 months since the Christmas holiday and the kids were definitely in need of this break as well.

On Friday I got an AWESOME surprise in the mail. The lovely Lindsey at Love Lindsey sent me the book that I won. Hooray!! I've wanted to try being a vegetarian for a super long time... I don't know if I'll be able to give up chicken, but I think it will be interesting to try. She told me once she read it, it made it fairly easy. I might do a give-a-way and pass it on once I'm finished with it ;)

Yesterday, while the hubs was at Staff Duty yesterday, I spent the day stalking tons and tons of blogs that I've been falling behind on. I think I follow WAY too many craft blogs b/c the only thing I wanted to do was craft, craft, craft. lol. he he.

So far I've ETCHED a million jars. The hubs calls me a hoarder, but I knew I would find a use for all of those old sauce jars. Originally I was going to nail them to the bottom of a shelf in the garage to hold all of the hubs nails, screw, ect. Yesterday I saw soooooo many bloggy friends have been ETCHING their jars. My office (where I keep all of my crafty supplies) is in need of some SERIOUS cleaning/organizing. I pulled out my craft bin and starting thinking of things that I could stick into my jars. Now all of my buttons and beads have new homes, and I will be making some more to hold on to all of my other little knick-knacks.

For those of you who haven't seen this project, all you need is Armour Etch ($8.50 at Hobby Lobby-A little pricey, but believe me, a little goes a LONG way with this stuff!!) and some contact paper. Just cut out your stencil and paint on some of the etching cream. It takes 5 minutes to dry, and you are good to go! So simple! I'm totally jealous of people with silhouettes and cricuts because it makes it so much faster  to stencil, but contact paper worked just fine.

My bookshelf was covered with tons and tons of binders and old textbooks. I love how my professors swore that I would use them once I started teaching. Ha! I've been out of school and teaching for FOUR years and I have done nothing but move them from apartment to apartment. So I finally decided it was time to stop pretending that I was going to use them, and pack them away.... this gave me a whole shelf to fill with all of my newly organized craft supplies :)

Before-Covered with books I've NEVER used!!

After-So much less clutter!

Organized :D

Pretty new jars... and I found those cute star cans in the dollar section at target

While I was cleaning, I found some extra camo fabric and I wanted to try and make one of THESE cute little bobby pins. The bowl I used was a little too big, so I don't think I'll use it in my hair, but I think I might find an old t-shirt to attach it to :D

(A) Age- Eeeeeeek! Promise not to tell? Pinky promise?! Okay, I'm 25 1/2!
(B) Bed Size: Queen. I wish our room was a tiny bit wider so we could upgrade to a king though. With FOUR dogs and a 6'2" husband, it doesnt leave much room for little ole me. lol
(C) Chore You Really Dislike: Dusting. It makes me all sniffly & sneeze. No thanks!
(D) Dogs? Miley is the oldest at 3, then Dixie is 2, Ty just turned 1, and Rebel is 14 weeks old. I think it's pretty cool they're all born about a year from each other. Makes it easier to remember how old they are. he he
(E) Essential Start Your Day Item: Snoozing at least 5 times
(F) Favorite Color: It changes... right now I'm loving dark purple
(G) Gold or Silver? White gold
(H) Height: 5'4"

(O) Overnight Hospital Stays? Not since I was born. lol
(P) Pet Peeve: People who don't treat their pets right, people who get pets and then turn around and take them to the pound, open mouth chewers, people who dont care about the environment, ignorant people, and the list goes on. ha ha!

(S) Siblings: 1 younger sister
(T) Time You Wake Up? Too early for my tastes!

(Y) Yummy Food You Make: Anything italian
(Z) Zoo, Favorite Animal: Giraffes and polar bears

Happy Easter Y'all

The hubs has staff duty today, so we're not doing anything to celebrate the holiday. The eggs that I had picked up to dye were ruined last weekend due to the power outages with the tornados... Boo. This year I wouldnt have my mom yelling at me (lovingly of course) because I'm not creative at dying eggs. I usually pick one color, and dye at least half of my eggs that color. One year they were all Carolina blue and said I love Justin Timberlake. lol. Oh to be 14 again. My favorite are the NINJA eggs from Easter 2005.

Sorry that they look cruddy, but I'm too lazy to go scan them. lol.
They were pink NINJA eggs. he he :) I probably made a whole dozen of them, and I thought they looked super cute in my basket...

NINJA eggs :D

Pardon the make-up mess under my eyes. I think I was 19 at the time, and I'm sure I was out being wild and crazy the night before, and woken up early to dye these lovely eggs.

{one} how often do you do laundry?
once a week, sometimes every two weeks... the hubs does his own laundry, and I have a ton of clothes, so I dont have to do it that often. lol.

{two} what is your favorite type of cookie?
chocolate chip with toffee

{three} what would you do with an extra $2000 per month?
Quit my job and be a stay at home dog mommy... or save it up and open a horse stable

{four} what was/is your favorite subject in school?
Science & Art

{five} have you ever ridden in a hot air balloon?
No, but I REALLY want to do this one day :)

{six} what was your high school mascot?
We were the blue streaks. Basically it's a lightning bolt, because I guess we're fast? lol

{seven} if you had the chance to go into space, would you?
Sure! How many people can say they've been to space?

{eight} how often do you go dancing?
Very rarely. We used to go line dancing a lot, but we live far away from town now, so we usually just stay in with friends. That way no one has to worry about driving.

{nine} would you rather drive or fly?
FLY!! Although with 4 dogs now, we will prob never fly anywhere again. lol

{ten} have you ever been caught re-gifting?
Nope... I think I've only regifted once, and it was something she wanted, and I didnt, so it worked out well.

Tail Wagging pt 4

I'm going to be naughty and break the rules today. My pups rarely wear collars because we crate them when we're going to be gone for extended periods of time because our older pitbull has separation anxiety and does this:

This was my book :( lol

I'm instead going to take this TWT to introduce you to the newest member of our family (Puppy #4) He doesn't have a name just yet, but we're leaning towards Rebel (since our other pit is Dixie, and we want him to have a down-home Southern name as well). He's a 13 week old pitbull (I know, they're vicious, why would I ever own one?!?!? lol) His ex-owner works with the hubs, and he was going to take him to the pound.

Down here, pitbulls + pound = euthanization... I obviously couldn't stand for that, so now we are the crazy dog people with FOUR dogs. lol. Thankfully one of my good friends, and soon to be neighbors, told me that she is getting another dog (she has 3 already) so we can be crazy dog people together! he he.... Without further ado here are some shots of rebel (and Dixie so you can see how alike they look!!)

I love him already!

Kisses for his big sis

I'm obsessed with his oversized ears. I secretly hope he wont grow into them because they're ADORABLE!

Prayers for the Ft Bragg Area

Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the storms yesterday.

Yesterday we had a series of 7 tornados in the Ft Bragg area. From what I've heard from people who are from here (I've only been here 4 years) the last time something happened like this was in the mid '80s. I have never witnessed anything like this, being from NY, and I just couldnt comprehend the destruction that happened.

The Sanford tornado can be viewed HERE. This is about 20 minutes North of where we live.

The Fayetteville tornado can be viewed HERE. This is where Ft Bragg is located.

The following are my photos. My darling husband was trying to get back home with his best friend when he heard about the twister ripping through Fayetteville. The boys ran home, grabbed their chainsaws (and me) and we all went to help where we could. I couldn't help clear All American expressway (one of the main entrances into Ft Bragg) because of the traffic. After they had helped the MP's clear the road, we went to the closest neighborhood affected by the tornado and found a house that needed people to help get a tree off their roof.

This shows the path across the median that the twister took
Houses just demolished

After clearing All American-We went towards the neighborhood in the picture above to see if we could help, and this is what we found...

This is the house we stopped to help at... the tree had gone into her bedroom

Hubs on the roof trying to get most of the tree down without breaking her window

Clear skies... no indication of the weather from a few hrs earlier

Another soldier helping... they almost have the tree down
