It's a small world after all

The hubs & I spent the morning cleaning out the shed & garage. I've got about 6 huge bags ready to go to goodwill. We're both so ready to get out of ft Bragg! Alaska here we come.

The hubs then went out & checked his trail cameras on our 10 acres, and he had almost 100 pics of deer on there, so he called up his friends & planned an excursion to the wilderness. One of the guys wives said he couldn't go, so his friend Crickson asked one of his friends to join them.

Me & the critter were sitting in the garage waiting with the boys, and the friend shows up... Well ladies (& maybe a gent or two who stumble along) said friend happened to be my ex boyfriend from when I was 17. I'm now 27. Talk about a blast from the past.

We asked how the other was doing, and I of course had to explain how we we knew each other to the hubs. Talk about awkward.

We met in NY the summer before I went off to college. I was only 17, he was 20. I fell hard & fast in that typical summer fling kind of way.

This guy & I had a roller coaster of a relationship, mostly bc he was going through some really hard times. I even almost dropped out of college in an attempt to save our mess of a relationship.

Now here we are, 10 years later, 700 miles from where we met, and he waltzes into my garage with his guns ready to go hunting. How nuts!

Of all my exes. This is the one that makes the most sense being friends with the hubs bc they are soooo similar. Not just them, but the things that have happened to them in their lives.

He's now married, and seems to be doing well. There are definitely no feelings there on my part (heck it's been 10 years!) but he actually messaged me on MySpace when the hubs and I first got together & wanted to hang out, so I'm glad he's moved on & is happy now as well.

Oh what a day!

  3. Ha, what a small world indeed. I think it's great that your hubs & him are friends, granted they didnt know about their connection to you but still. My husband is acquaintances with one of my ex's too, they're friendly & it's cool but I can assure you we won't be going on any camping trips together anytime soon.
