But I dont wanna!

The start of the new school is fast approaching, and I am having the worst anxiety about it. Not that I am at all nervous about teaching. This will be the start of my SIXTH year in education. Wow. When did I get so old?!

I am however terribly sick with the idea of spending all day with out my little Critterface! Up until today, I had only left her with my mom for about an hour (twice), and with my husband once for about 20 minutes while I went to feed our horses.

Tomorrow she will officially be 4 months old, and today was the first time she was left with a sitter. Next week we are supposed to have a week long workshop on building leadership skills, so I thought it was best to try a half day first, to make sure that she would be alright with her sitter before being at work, and not being able to come get her if she absolutely hates it.

Well, Critterface was an angel for the sitter. I dropped her off around 9. I had originally thought about going to work to move some stuff into my new classroom (this is the 5th time I will move rooms) but then I decided to take my two male dogs to the vet. Rebel weighs in at 70lbs, and I didnt think I could juggle him, Ty & my little Critterface at the same time. I got there around noon, and she was smiling away in her exasaucer, and the sitter said she was a joy to have. She said Critterface took two naps, but they must have been short ones, or she must have had an absolute blast, because she's been sleeping for almost THREE hours. She never naps this long. lol. The sitter I'm using also watches 2 other kiddos, so this is the first time my little one has gotten to really play with other kids. I'm really glad that she was such a doll, since she will be there from 7:30-3:30 all next week. Then I have about 2 more weeks off, and it's back to work full time. Eeeeek!

She's so silly!

Gosh, I love her!

I can't believe she's so big already. Where doest the time go?!

Just as I'm finishing my first real post (not done from my iPhone) she wakes up... must be mommies cue that computer time is OVER!
Later Gators :)

It's just how things are done around here

My cousin posted this on Facebook. He shared the image from a page called Darwinism.

In society we definitely do stupid things just because that's the way things have always been done. Hopefully, someday, people will start to question more!

Have you heard about Lennox?

If you haven't seen his story plastered all over Facebook, you can do a quick google search to learn more.

To summarize his story, 7 year old Lennox was put down this morning because he MIGHT have been PART pitbull, and the close minded laws of Northern Ireland prohibit the breed from existing within its borders.

Every time I hear a story like this, it makes my heart hurt. It's no secret on my blog that I own & love the breed. I wish everyone could experience the unconditional love that this breed has. I also have a dachshund (who is mean!) and a catahoula/collie mix (who does his own thing) whose love does not even compare to that of our pits. They are the sweetest, most devoted creatures.

So in honor of Lennox, I share with you a few pictures of this "bully breed" guarding my little munchkin who they already love, even when she pulls their ears & sticks her fingers in their eyes :)

Oh Upstate NY

Some pictures from my trip to my home state

Oh how I miss hills, and green fields!
And pizza! Lol

Happy Birthday

I made this for my mom :)

To make it:
1. I attached 12 eye screws to the bottom of the board
2. Then I used a large circle punch (scrap booking section of Michaels) to punch an unnecessary amount of circles from paint samples
3. I used a teeny-tiny hole punch (also from the scrapping section) to punch holes at the top & bottom of each circle
4. I used jump rings (jewelry section) to attach the circles to the eye screws, as well as to each other
5. Add birthdays & decorate :)

I know this idea is floating all over pinterest, and there are 35785477 variations, so I'm not going to link it, since I have no idea who had the idea first, and I didn't follow any one example.

Happy 4th of July y'all!

Can you tell she just figured out how to put things in her mouth in the last few weeks?!
